Temporary State Capital comes up at Amaravati

The State Government has reportedly decided to construct the temporary State Capital in 29 villages that were centrally located in the capital region.

Minister for Municipal Administration P.Narayana said that the government plans to construct six lakh square feet of office space to shit the Secretariat and the Assembly. Six blocks each with a floor space of one lakh sq.ft. will come up in the next six months.

Speaking to press, he said that the government was planning to construct G plus one building each floor with a space of 50,000 sq.ft. Foundation stone would be constructed for six floors, he said and added that the CRDA would use it for commercial purposes. The government has determined to shift the Secretariat in the next six months. There was also a proposal to utilize the office space at Medha Towers at Gannavaram, he said. Dismissing the fears that ‘expressway’ and ‘aerial roads’ would pass through the villages and said only three villages – Madadam and Kistayapalem were likely to be affected and however, he did not disclose the third village. The government would compensate land for land and pay double compensation even if portion of some buildings were to be demolished, said Narayana.
