Minister for Social Welfare Ravela Kishore Babu addressing the media said that his wife Santi has purchased 83 cents of land in the capital region. Reacting over the serial stories published in Telugu Daily ‘Sakshi’, he questioned that ‘ can’t Dalits purchase assigned lands’. He further said that his wife is in real-estate business since 2003 and he also furnished the details in his election affidavit. He said that if anyone proves that he purchased lands in violation of rules, he would retire from politics.
MP Murali Mohan said that he had decided to purchase the land near to Amaravati in 2014 but was delayed due to agreement process in May 2015. He said that he prepared to purchase lands either at Visakhapatnam or in Vijayawada immediately after knowing the State will bifurcation is imminent. He said that he identified the land in 2014 and it took one year time for his lawyer to give clearance and entered into an agreement on May 8, 2015. He said that he is prepared to face any probe that may come in the issues raised in the news paper, he said in Delhi on Thursday.
Minister for Municipal Administration P.Narayana responding over the allegation said that if anyone proves that he purchased lands in benami names, he would immediately transfer in their name. He said that he advised to all those known to him to purchase lands in and around Amaravati as the prices will shoot up. The same has been told to them during his abroad tours.
