Students from the State can now take up Telangana EAMCET in their own State with the Telangana Government agreeing to the AP Government’s request to conduct the test in their State.
The TS-EAMCET will be held in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Tirupati and Kurnool. The TSCHE officials and JNTU-H officials after deliberations decided to have the examination centres in four cities of Andhra Pradesh. TSCHE Chairman T.Papi Reddy said that the decision was taken as thousands of students from Andhra Pradesh also take the EAMCET here particularly for medical stream. We have no hassles and have fool-proof mechanism for the rest’, said the convenor of TS EAMCET.
Officials said that last year 42,106 students from Andhra Pradesh wrote the EAMCET of which 25,967 were from Andhra University region including 10,766 (Engineering) and 15,039 (medical). From Sri Venkateswara University region 16, 139 took up that included 5,061 in engineering stream and 11,016 in medical stream. All those candidates would be eligible for 15 per cent non-local quota.
