TTD approves Rs.2,858.48 crore budget for 2017-18

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Tuesday has approved its annual budget for 2017-18 proejcting an estimated revenue of Rs.2,858.48 crore.

According to TTD sources, the sale of special entrance, ‘Seeghra Darshanam’ and ‘Break darshan’ ticket is expected to fetch Rs.256 crore, sale of laddus is likely to be Rs.165 crore followed by Rs.100 crore form sale of human hair. Other heads include Rs.56.51 crore by way of loans and advances to employees, EMD, security deposits in addition to Rs.55 crore in the form of ‘Arjitham’ receipts, Rs.20 crore by way of proceeds received from the sale of gold dollars besides Rs.164.25 crore by way of lease rents from hotels ad shops, KKC receipts, Engineering, toll gate, sale of publications, canteen, educational and other capital receipts.

New gold jewel for the deity:: The TTD Trust Board has decided to get a new ‘Sahasra Nama Kasula Haram’ for Lord Venkateswara. The Board has decided to invite open tenders for making the new jewel at a ost of Rs.11 crore. About 30 kg of gold is expected to go into its making. According to sources, a US based NRI Ramalinga Raju has already donated $20,27,650 towards the making of the jewel.
