The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust board that met here today has approved the annual budget for the year 2016-17 at a cost of Rs.2,678 crore while it was Rs.2,530 crore for 2015-16.
TTD Chairman Chadalavada Krishna Murty and Executive Officer D.Sambasiva Rao said that designs for the construction had been finalized and the board had decided to re-construct the 1,000 pillar mandapam and has given its nod for inviting tenders. The estimated cost of the mandapam is Rs.18 crore. However, the board did not take any decision on the rationalization of prices of arjitha seva tickets, laddus and enhancement of cottage rents as was earlier expected.
TTD expects an income of Rs.1,010 crore through donations from devotees, interest on investments is estimated at Rs.778.93 crore, income through sale of darshan tickets is Rs.209 crore, seva tickets is at Rs.55 crore, sale of laddus is at Rs.175 crore, rents from cottages is Rs.114.5 crore, sale of human hair is estimated at Rs.150 crore, rents through shops, Janata hotels, toll gate entry fee, sale of books etc., is estimated at Rs.133.25 crore.
The expenditure is estimated as Rs.500 crore for payment of salaries to regular and outsourced employees, Rs.7575.06 crore investments, purchases is Rs.320 crore, pension trust is Rs.120 crore, Pension Fund is Rs.75 crore, grants Rs.165.50 crore, Fixed assets and expenditure on outsourcing expenditure is Rs.199.25 crore, Electricity is Rs.55 crore, maintenance of fixed assets works is Rs.160 crore, Hindu Dharmik Prachar programme is Rs.121 crore.
The other decisions that included are Sri Vari Vaibhavotsvams at other places have been reduced to five from nine days. Construction of Yatrisadan at Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Antervedi at Rs.4.90 crore, Renovation works of Veerabhadraswamy temple at Pachchava villge of Jrugumalli mandal of Prakasam district at Rs.22.5 lakhs.
