TDP and YSRCP activists who assembled in large numbers at the Poola Angallu circle, jostled and pelted stones on each other created a tension here resulting in a head injury to Pulivendula traffic Sub Inspector Chiranjeevi.

This took place following war of words between the two party leaders claiming that the TDP has developed Pulivendula during their rule while was challenged by the YSRCP. Heavy police force was deployed. Police put up check posts to restrict entry of outsiders into the town since Sunday morning.

This took place following TDP’s Pulivendula in-charge S.V.Satish Kumar Reddy challenged YSRCP leaders to come up for a public debate on Sunday evening which the latter responded positively. The police denied permission for the debate saying that it would vitiate the atmosphere. The police kept Kadapa MP Y.S.Avinash Reddy under house arrest in the old MLA quarters at Pulivendula after their bid to shift him to the police station. That resulted a stiff resistance from party activists. Likewise, the police also kept Satish Kumar Reddy under house arrest.

Police enforced Prohibitory orders under section 144 IPC and took several TDP and YSRCP activists into custody. YSRCP MLA Gadikota Srikanth Reddy speaking to media said that the party was prepared for a debate on development in the entire State during YSR’s rule and Chandrababu rule.
