Suspended Civil Judge Sadananda Murty commits suicide

An additional Civil Judge P.V.Sadananda Murty who was working here has committed suicided by hanging himself at his residence on Wednesday.

According to sources, the deceased wife Annapurnamma has lodged a complaint with MRPalli Police. Sadananda Murty was transferred from Nellore to here as Principal Senior Civil Judge in 2013 and also worked as Additional Senior Civil Judge. He was reportedly suffering from depression.

Sources said that earlier he went to Tirumala and he behaved in an indecent manner with a priest at Tirumala and the victim lodged a complaint with the police. Based on the report from Chittoor District judge and Tirupati III Additional Judge, the High Court had on March 6 placed Sadananda Murty under suspension. The High Court also ordered him not to leave Tirupati without further orders.

After suspension, he vacated the Judges’ quarters and was staying in a rented house at Vidyanagar. He was under depression for not getting promotion and following suspension. Annapurnamma in her complaint stated the same to the police. His son is pursuing studies inn IIT, Banaras and his daughter is pursing studying in US. The dead body was shifted to RIUA hospital where post-mortem was conducted and shifted the body to his native Machilipatnam. The judges and advocates have paid tributes to him.
