Wednesday, September 6, 2017

The Andhra Pradesh State government has cancelled the controversial G.O.No.64 that gives eligibility for employment to candidates who studied in universities not recognized by the Indian Council for Agriculture Research.

It may be recalled that the Agricultural students have been agitating against the GO as it is against the interests of the students who studied in government recognized colleges/institutions. As per the GO No.16, it is mandatory to obtain a degree from a college recognized by the ICAR.

Speaking to press, Minister for Agriculture Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said that the government cancelled the GO following a request from the student community.

Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan thank the Chief Minister for cancellation of the controversial GO and described it as a great relief for the students. The students of Acharya N.G.Ranga Agricultural University had been alleging that while the Agriculture Department was recruiting graduates who did not study in colleges accredited by the ICAR, the impugned GO sought to regularize the anomaly.
