The AP State MPs both TDP and YSRCP staged protests demanding grant of SCS and implementation of AP State Reorganization Act.

MPs of YSRCP staged protests outside the Parliament. Five YSRCP MPs along with some MLAs were detained by Delhi Police when they tried to march towards the Parliament complex to protest against the Central denial of Special Category Status to the State. Scores of party cadres squatted in front of the police van to thwart attempts to detain their leaders.

Speaking to PTI, before being taken by the police, Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy said ‘We all trusted Chandrababu Naidu, but the interest he showed in increasing the number of seats in the State Assembly did not reflect in getting the SCS for the State. MP Vijayasai Reddy said ‘We took that we are being detained. Even in 2015, our party chief Jagan Mohan Reddy held a similar protest at the same venue for the same cause. Such attempts to detail us will not deter us. We will continue this’.

33 Trinamool Congress MPs from both the houses of Parliament sat on dharna in front of Gandhi Statue demanding a investigation into the bank scams. ‘We are clear that till the government agrees for a discussion on the bank scams, we can not have any parliamentary proceedings’, said MP Kalyan Banerjee.
