State Cabinet decides to bring an ordinance to appoint DGP of its own

The State Cabinet today resolved to bring an ordinance to amend the AP Police Act for appointing the DGP on its own.

Minister for Information and Public Relations Kalava Srinivasulu speaking to media said that the DGP appointment would be, however, subject to All India Services Act, 1953. The Cabinet also decided to bring about a comprehensive Police Act at that time for the welfare of the police forces.

Minister for Municipal Administration P.Narayana said Foster+Partners would come up with the action plan for implementation of the tower design for implementation in six to eight weeks after which the construction was likely to begin and be completed in two years.

Another decision taken was to give Transstroy another year’s time to return the mobilization advance amounting to Rs.530 crore. It will have time until September 2018 to do so.

President Ram Nath Kovind will launch the Fiber Grid on December 27 by addressing about two lakh people through video conference. The State Cabinet has decided to introduce Chandranna Pelli Kanuka for the BCs, the SCs, the STs and the minorities in February. The BCs will get Rs.30,000 ad the SCs and the STs Rs.50,000.

The State Cabinet has cleared the creation of nine urban mandals” 2,3 and 4 mandals in Vijayawada and one each in Guntur, Nellore and Kurnool. The State Cabinet has decided to constitute a sub-committee for speedy redressal of grievances of the AgriGold victims. .
