State’s temporary capital come up at Velagapudi

The Minister for Municipal Administration P.Narayana said that the State’s temporary capital comes up at Velagapudi in Guntur district.

Speaking to press today at the Secretariat, he said that the temporary secretariat will come up at survey nos. 205, 206 207, 208 and 214 in a 26-acre land in six lakh square feet area.

The government is inviting tenders from Thursday for pre-fabricated, steel, RCC methods. An estimated Rs.180 crore will be spent for construction at a cost of Rs.3,000 per square feet under pre-fabricated method. A total of 21 days’ time will be given for filing tenders and the construction would be completed within six months.

On allotment of plots to farmers, he said that the government cannot give plots for the people in Tallyapalem, Uddandarayunipalem, Lingayapalem as was said earlier and will be given in the neighboring villages. There would be two separate zones for residential and commercial constructions and the constructions would be done in the designs approved by the government. No commercial activity will be accepted in the residential zones, he said.
