The administration has made elaborate arrangements for the polling in Special Grade Municipality in28 wards on Wednesday.
The elections will be held from 7am to 5pm in 72 polling centres. A total of 74, 710 voters will exercise their franchise. It may be recalled that out of 34 wards, TRS candidates have elected unanimously in six wards even before withdrawal of nominations. The elections will be held for 28 wards.
Senior IAS officer Dinakar Babu will be election observer while Vijayakumar will be election expenditure observer. Commissioner Ramanachari will oversee the municipal elections. The entire polling will be video graphed and micro observers have been appointed for every two polling stations.
It may be recalled that the State Election Commissioner V. Nagi Reddy issued notification for the conduct of election for Siddipet municipality on March 21, 2016. Election will be held on April 6 and counting will be on April 11. The Municipal Commissioner will be the returning officer for elections.
