The management of Nellore Government Medical College have suspended seven senior medicos for three weeks on the charges of beating up and ragging junior students on the college premises a couple of days ago.

Chatla Narsimha Rao, Chairman of the Government Medical College and DSR District Headquarters Hospital Committee said that the decision to take action against the senior students was taken after they were found guilty of ragging. He said that the parents of the suspended students were called and counselling would be given to the students in their presence. If such incidents recur on the premises of the college or hostel, more stringent action against the guilty, he said.
