With the continued efforts of TTD, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and fishermen community are set to get trained in priesthood and become eligible to perform rituals in temples.
The 15 day workshop conducted by the TTD’s training arm Sri Venkateswara Employees Training Academy came to a close on Monday with the valedictory session where the EO Anil Kumar Singhal addressed the participants. ‘The role of an archaka is not only to perform ‘puja’ as per the prescribed tenets, but also play a vital role in the propagation of Hindu dharma’, he said.
The TTD has constructed 500 temples in Dalit, tribal and fishermen hamlets as part of the Dharma Prachara activities. He said that every year three batches will undergo training and continue to perform ‘puja’ in the temples in their respective localities. He distributed certificates to the participants
