Deputy Chief Minister K.E.Krishna Murty said that the government had made a budgetary allocation of Rs.3,860 crore for the housing sector to enable construction of houses for the homeless poor.
He distributed sanction letters to the beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and ‘Housing for All’ and disbursal of a new pensions here today. He asserted that 12 lakh houses were being built in the State. ‘In all 4,153 houses have been sanctioned and 3,304 new pensions disbursed in the State.
Under NTR Bharosa, Rs.6,000 crore was being disbursed among 46 lakh beneficiaries in the State. Aadarana scheme would be launched soon. As far as houses for journalists are concerned, he said a committee was constituted to formulate an action plan and build houses for them.. by sanctioning funds to Information and Public Relations Department. A decision would be taken shortly said Kaluva Srinivasulu, Minister for Information. Nearly 18,000 accreditations were sanctioned in the State earlier and guidelines for the journalists’ housing programme before the conclusion of the budget session of the Assembly.
