Rs.2,500 pension to CKD patients

The State government will provide Rs.2,500 per month as pension to persons afflicted with Chronic Kidney Disease of stages III, IV and V and those undergoing dialysis in government hospitals in the State.

A GO No.418 has been issued to this effect. The funds for the scheme would be provided from the PA Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board as the patients identified were primarlly construction and NREGA workers, said the Principal Secretary, Medical and Health and Family Welfare.

According to sources, the scheme would be implemented through the NTR Bharosa Pension portal. Patients undergoing dialysis would be registered by the superintendents of the government hospitals in the NTR Bharosa porta. District Coordinator Hospital Services will be the nodal officer for approval of the new pensions at the district level.

Meanwhile, logins have been provided to superintendents of 32 government hospitals. As on August 31, out of 1,649 applications submitted by the government hospitals, 1,575 have been approved for sanction of pension by the DCHS, Srikakulam, East Godavari and Guntur topped the districts with 265, 200 and 182 patients respectively.
