Regularization of encroachments – deadline extended

The State Government has today extended the deadline to file applications for regularization of un-objectionable encroachments to a maximum of 100 yards in government lands in urban areas by another three months.

It may be recalled that the government has issued a GO.296 in August to facilitate regularization of encroachments in urban areas. Applications have to be from BPL families should accompany with valid documents like income certificates and others.

Over 90,000 applications were filed across the State. Visakhapatnam topped the list with over 45,000 applications followed by Guntur and Vijayawada in the second and third places. Chief Commissioner of Land Acquisition Anil Chandra Punetha said that necessary instructions were issued to the respective Joint Collectors about the extension.
