Railway Minister flags off new train for Goa

Union Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhu, via a video link flagged off the Tirupati-Vasco Da Gama Express Train No. 17419 from the Tirupati Railway Station on Thursday.

The Union Minsiter said that the train would serve as the first direct link on the west coast with the abode of Lord Venkateswara, Tirupati. It is also expected to cater the requirements of the Hubbali-Dharwad belt of Karnataka providing it direct train access to the temple city.

The regular service is scheduled to commence form January 5 and it will operate on every Thursday – Train No. 17419 Tirupati to Vasco Da Gama and Friday – Train No.17420 Vasco Da Gama to Tirupati.

Special train service extended:: Running of the Bhubaneswar-Krishnarajpuram bi-weekly Suvidha Special Express No.82841 has been extended form January 2 to February 27, 2017. It will leave Bhubaneswar at 11.30am on Mondays and Thursdays and arrive I Visakhapatnam at 6.30pm and leaves at 6.55pm to reach Krishnarajpuram on Tuesdays and Fridays at 1pm. In the return direction, Train No. 8282 will leave Krishnarajpuram on Tuesdays and Fridays from January 3 to February 28 at 4.05 pm to reach Vizag the following days at 12.35pm and leave at 12.55pm to reach Bhubaneswar at 8pm according to senior DCM M.Yelvender Yadav.
