The APSRTC and TSRTC officials are making steps to handle two lakh passengers during the Sankranti festival.
RTC is deputing 300 officers to Telangana to monitor the situation during the peak days. Hyderabad-Vijayawada, the RTC has scheduled operations from Vijayawada to Tirupati, Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Rajahmundry, Nellore and other places.
RTC has devised pre and post Sankranti plans and separate plan n Bhogi, Sankranti and Kanuma days. The RTC will run 463 buses on January 11and 700 the next day. Besides the 552 regular services to Hyderabad, it plans to operate 5,000 extra buses. Sources said that 35,000 passengers had reserved from Hyderabad to Vijayawada on January 12 and equal number for their return journey on January 15. All the books were closed by January 5.
The passengers have been requested to download the RTC App http://apsrtclivetrack.com to know the status of their service. It is also sending SMS to the reserved passengers with service number, departure point and time and the Helpline number requesting them to reach the boarding points in advance said the Chief Traffic Manager.
