The Privileges Committee of the Andhra Pradesh State Legislative Assembly that met here on Saturday recommended action against YSRCP MLA R.K.Roja and Kodali Sri Venkateswara Rao (Nani) and leaves it to the House.

Following a complained filed by TDP MLA V.Anita alleging misbehavior of YSRCP MLAs, the committee headed by Gollapalli Surya Rao served summons to YSRCP MLAs Jyothula Nehru, Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, Kodali Nani, Ch.Bhaskar Reddy and R.K.Roja. The committee reportedly let off the rest with a stern warning except Roja and Nani. Roja could not attend the meeting as she was admitted to hospital after illness during a stage of dharna in front of the Assembly today morning.

Day proceedings dominate Roja issue
On the second day of the marshals preventing Roja entering into the Assembly today too, the entire proceedings were dominated by the suspension issue. She was not allowed to enter into the Assembly despite High Court’s clear interim orders. She demanded the marshals to show the written instructions if any to prevent her from entering the House, the official maintained that he was following the instructions of the higher-ups. Angered over this, she staged a dharna in front of the Gandhi statue and after sometime developed signs of illness and was rushed to NIMS through 108 ambulance.

In another development, YSRCP legislators attended the House wearing black dress stormed the Well of the House raised slogans demanding justice disrupting the proceedings. They demanded to honour the High Court orders. The House was adjourned for twice before adjourning. Unrelenting members continued their protests forcing the Speaker to adjourn the House to Monday. The Speaker was firm that the Assembly should take a decision on the issue as it was the House that passed an unanimous resolution suspending the YSRCP MLA for one year.

Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced after a meeting of party MLAs that they are boycotting the House till March 21 in protest against the way the Speaker is acting in the House by not honoring judiciary. He led the MLAs to the statute of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar where they performed ‘milk abhishekam’. Speaking to media, he said though they requested to allot mike for two minutes to express their protest was denied. He condemned the statement of the Speaker that Roja was suspended unanimously is totally false and expressed his surprise over the Speaker saying that the matter will taken up on Monday. He said that AP Assembly including the Speaker is not honouring judiciary in a democratic system.
