    • Modi stops his high speed convoy in Surat when a 4-year old girl, Nancy Gondaliya, walks towards his SUV. Modi affectionately rubbed her cheeks and asked her what she was wearing on her wrist, she replied it is a wrist watch. Modi enquired the time.

Referring to the Ramayana, he said Hanuman also never questioned Ram. Modi said that when Lakshman went into coma, Hanuman went looking for a cure without waiting for orders and MPs should take lessons from that.

    • West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today met Modi and sought release of funds due to her state under various schemes. In the half an hour meeting, she asked for the release of Rs 10,459 crore due to West Bengal under various Centre-sponsored schemes.

    • Media reports of a possible meeting between West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi later during this week which will be for the first time in nearly eight months. Prime Minister is likely to receive Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who will be visitng in Delhi on Friday. India and Bangladesh are likely to sign as many as 33 MoU during the PM visit.
  • April 3: Dedicated Chenani-Nashri Tunnel, Asia's longest bi-directional road tunnel on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway to the nation. Promises nine more such tunnels in different parts.
  • Addressing a Rally at Udhampur, he asked the youth of Kashmir to utilize employment and educational opportunities provided by the government. He told the Kashmiri youth to swap terrorism for tourism saying that 40 years of bloodshed has benefitted none. Mehbooba Mufti thanked the PM for backing her government during the "difficult time" last year.
