The Tirupati Urban police has denied permission for Madigala Viswaroopa Chaitanya Yatra scheduled to be held by MRPS at Naravaripalli on March 10 due to law and order problems.
Tirupati Urban Superintendent of Police Gopinath Jatti said that the yatra was being opposed by Mala Mahanadu State president Kalluri Chengaiah who maintains that the MRPS leader was from Telangana and would be responsible for creating tensions between the two sects – Malas and Madigas. Dalit leaders have also requested the police for the conduct of another meeting at the same place aimed against the MRPS on categorization of Scheduled Castes, he said.
Meanwhile, MRPS founder president Manda Krishna Madiga, on Tuesday, in an open letter to the Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu stated that the MRPS would not deviate from agitation path and they would fight until their last breath. ‘If it were evident that liberation was possible only with bloodshed, the MRPS activists were ready to lay down their lives, he said.
