Interacting with the patients suffering with kidney problems at Itchapuram in Srikakulam district today on Tuesday, Jana Sena president and actor Pawan Kalyan termed it as a great problem needs to be addressed immediately.
Pawan Kalyan lamented the failure of the government ignoring the kidney patients in 11 mandals including Uddanam in the district served an ultimatum to the government to address the issue on war footing. He said that the government failed to know the primary reasons for the increase of the disease in the areas.
Pawan said that the government is spending crores of rupees on Pushkarams and huge amounts on capital constructions but silently neglecting the people who are suffering with the disease. He said that it is unfortunate that the people’s representatives of the area are not even taking the same to the notice of the government.
Sets 15 days deadline::
Pawan Kalyan has demanded the government to come to the rescue of the kidney patients immediately and constitute a committee immediately. He demanded to announce financial and health packages to the victims. He said that on behalf of Jana Sena Party, a five member doctors’ committee is being constituted and a report would be prepared and will be submitted to the government. If the government fails to respond within 15 days after the submitting the report, the government will have to taste the agitation.
The Jana Sena Chief condemning the statement of Health Minister over establishing of dialysis centres, he said that it is not a treatment and even this does the Health Minister know, he questioned.
20,000 deaths in 11 mandals::
The kidney problem issue that became a sensational topic across the country is not a new one and over 25,000 people are suffering with kidney problems in 104 villages in 11 mandals. He said that another 20,000 people lost their lives due to the disease, he said. Uddanam in Kaviti mandal, Bhagavanudasupuram in Ponduru mandal, Palasa, Sompeta, Tekkali, Vajrapukottur, Kanchili, Mandasa, Itchapuram, Nandigam, Santabommali are having highest kidney patients, he said.
