PIL filed against allotment of rank to Ronanki Gopala Krishna

A public interest litigation was filed in the High court of judicature at Hyderabad for the State of Telangana and the State of Andhra Pradesh seeking directions as violation of law on the allotment of rank to Ronanki Gopala Krishna. Ronanki Gopala Krishna bags 3rd rank in Civils – List of rankers from the State.

An advocate M.Muralikrishna filed the PIL requesting the High Court to direct the authorities to conduct an inquiry the genuineness of the certificate on physically challenged. The petitioner also prayed the Court to issue interim orders to UPSC not to allot IAS service. He made the Union Staff Training department secretary, UPSC joint secretary, AP State Chief Secretary and Ronanki Gopala Krishna as respondents.

The petitioner informed the Court that Gopala Krishna was awarded 3rd rank in the results announced on May 31 by the UPSC. He said that though Gopala Krishna has no physical disability, he appeared the examination with fake affidavit and appeared the examination. He submitted that he was suffering with 45% physical disability in orthopedics. The eligibility marks in preliminary is 110.66 but Gopala Krishna got only 91.34 marks. Under Divyangula quota, the eligibility marks are 75.34. and with this he could get eligibility for mains. The advocate informed the court that he did not appear for the mains with the marks he obtained in OBC quota but only with Divyangula quota. The petitioner further said that the time for ordinary candidates is three hours while it is four hours for the candidates under Divyangula quota. There are many reports appeared in print media and appealed the court to take all these into consideration and issue orders.
