Obscene dances on the premises of Satyanarayana Swamy Annavaram Temple

Some dancers have performed obscene dances on the temple premises of Sri Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swamy here on Saturday night as part of marriage function of a TDP leader.

Sources said that the marriage was performed by a TDP leader and as such either the security staff or Devasthanam staff could not object such illegal affair. The incident took place at an open place at Hariharasadan. The marriage function held on the wee hours of Saturday and was reserved for the marriage on last month 11 by one Kode Sekhar from Addaripeta of Tondangi mandal. On one side, the marriage was going on, the dancers performed obsecen dances on the other side by blasting crackers that created inconvenience to the pilgrims. The entire programme went on till early morning.

  • Minister enquires:: Meanwhile, the news of the same was telecasted in TV channels and responding over it, the Minister for Endowments P.Manikyala Rao and Commissioner YV Anuradha enquired over phone to the Executive officer over phone. He warned him to arrest such kind of events on the temple premises.
  • Two employees suspended and three were served with charge memos:: The administration has placed Hariharasadan clerk N.Govind and Security Guard Bahudur from the duties said Devasthanam Executive Officer K.Nageswara Rao. He said that charge memos have been served on the superintendent Krishna Prasad, Record Assistant Ramana Murty and attender P.Subbarao for dereliction of duties. Sources said that a decision has been taken not to let out the open spaces on the hill.

Executive Officer has lodged a complaint with the police over the entire issue saying that the organizers have violated the rules mentioned in the application. The police registered a case and are investigating.
