Noted Astrologer, Vaastu and Muhrata pundit, Maha Mahopadyaya, Jyotish Vignana Bhaskara Madhura Krishnamurthy (88) passed away on Wednesday at around 12.30 at his residence in Rajamahendravaram.
Madhura Krishna Murty is survived by wife, two sons and four daughters. He was born in Mukkamala village in West Godavari on February 28, 1928. He studied only up to 8th standard but learnt Telugu grammar, Panchakavyalu, Rig Vedam, Smartham, Hora and Samhita parts in Jyotish Sastra. He learnt Panchaga ganitam and ayanamsalu from the scholars in Varanasi during 1956-57.
Madhura was the advisor to Endowments Department of Andhra Pradesh government during 1970-80. He worked as President of Institute of Astrology during 1982-85 in Kolkata. He was honored with ‘kanakabishekam’ in 1985 by Bihar Governor Pendekanti Venkata Subbaiah. He toured Holland, Germany and other countries on the request by Maharshi Yoga in 1995 and delivered lectures on Astrology.
He was honoured by the then President of India APJ Abdul Kalam in 2004 and Vachaspati from Tirupati Rashtriya Samskruti Vidyapeetham. He established Viswavignana Pratistanam in 1989 and organized lecturers from prominent persons across the country.
The final rites will be held today at Kotilingala Kailasa Bhoomi today.
