Note for Vote case – Supreme Court serves notice to Chandrababu Naidu

The Supreme Court of India today on Monday served notices to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu directing him to file counter in the ‘Note for vote’ scam.

It may be recalled that YSRCP MLA Alla Ramakrsihna Reddy challenged the High Court judgement in the above case which the Apex court admitted to hear the case. Advocate Ponnavolu Sudkhakar Reddy appearing for the petitioner Ramakrishna Reddy speaking to media today said that Chandrababu Naidu cannot escape from the case and justice will be done. He said that the Supreme Court has observed the seriousness of the case and he would present the necessary evidence before the court at the hearing time.

It may be recalled that the ACB special court has directed the investigating agency to re-investigate the case in which Telangana MLA A.Revanth Reddy and others have been caught red handed while bribing Rs.50 lakhs TRS nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson as advance out of Rs.5 crore promised to him in return for his support to the party candidate in MLC polls. . The ACB was ordered to reopen the case u/s 156(3) of the Cr.P.C. that empowers the magistrate to check police performance and monitor it besides naming persons mentioned in the complaint as accused.
