No employment-No unemployment allowance

Andhra Pradesh State Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said that the government cannot provide employment to all unemployees in the State. Likewise, the government too cannot provide unemployment allowance.

Ramakrishna opined that by giving unemployment allowance to the youth and ask them to roam is not good. He said no guidelines and rules have been formed so far.

He said that the TDP has given unemployment allowance as a poll promise and committed to implement the same to some extend and in that direction, the government is trying to do its best. He opined that paying unemployment allowance, the beneficiary may be asked to extend education for uneducated, admission of school dropouts in schools, increase of literacy rate, creating awareness on health among the public are some of the restrictions that may be imposed.

He said that payment of unemployment allowance is in existence in four States in the country and four countries in the world. The government will implement the same after studying the payment of unemployment allowance issue in these States.

The upcoming budget 2017-18 would be a balance one between development and welfare. Due importance would be given for development and welfare. Though lakhs of crores investments in industry for which MoUs were entered only 50 per cent will take a shape, he said. A special authority would be established for the small and medium industries which are under losses.
