TDP MLA S.Rajender Reddy who represents Narayanpet constituency of Medak district said that he was joining TRS bowing to pressure from people who elected him.
Reddy and nine other TDP MLAs who left the party would not invite the prospect of losing membership of the Assembly because the anti-defection law says that the MLAs will not attract its provisions if two-thirds members of a party defect.
Chandrababu calls for emergency meeting::
Meanwhile Telugu Desam Party president Nara Chandrababu Naidu has today called for an emergency meeting. He wanted the senior leaders of the State to give suggestions for chalking out the road-map for the next elections as it will be a test for the party. He said that the party should be capable of turning the crisis into an opportunity and a new leadership should emerge. The statement comes when at a time when TDP senior leaders Yerrabilli Dayakar Rao and MLA T.Prakash Goud switching their loyalty to the TRS. Chandrababu immediately suspending them from the party appointed A.Revanth Reddy as the floor leader of the legislative party. Speaking to press after the meeting, he said that there are some reasons behind the party’s defeat which need to be analyzed. The electorate had some reservations in voting for the party, he said.
