TDP Polit Bureau members proposed the name of Nara Lokesh, general secretary of the party be elected as MLC under the MLA’s quota in the election scheduled to be held on March 20 to pave way for his Cabinet berth.
At a politburo meeting held at the residence of the TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday, the members suggested that Chandrababu Naidu to consider Lokesh’s name while finalizing the candidates to be fielded in the Council elections. The Polit Bureau discussed the socio-caste equations in MLA quota and local bodies MLC.
Polit Bureau member Somieddy Chandramohan Reddy and Kaluva Srinivasulu said that the list of candidates will be announced on Monday.
In earlier press conferences and interviews, Lokesh also did not rule out the possibility saying ‘I am ready to do whatever the party/high command directs’. Becoming an MLC is only option before him to be inducted into the State Cabinet.
