Nannayya University Registrar Narasimha Rao resigns

Adikavi Nannaya University Registrar A.Narasimha Rao who was at loggerheads with the Vice-Chancellor M.Mutyala Naidu and the university administration, resigned for the post on Thursday evening.

Prof.Narasimha Rao had alleged large scale irregularities in award of a contract to Bengaluru based IT company SIRT for automation of the examination system in the university. Senior teaching faculty, however termed his charges baseless. He wrote to the State government demanding an inquiry into his allegation.

Vice Chancellor went to Vijayawada on Wednesday after being called by the Principal Secretary and presented his version on the allegation made by Prof.Narasimha Rao.

A team led by APSCHE Chairman S.Vijayaraju visited the university on Thursday and conducted an inquiry and gave a clean chit to them following which Narasimha Rao resigned.
