The 12th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Nampally Criminal Court Complex had issued the Non Bailable Warrant against the Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Sujana Chowdary for defaulting on loan repayment to a Maurities based bank.
The directions of the court came following representation of the Bank’s counsel that Sujana Chowdary failed to appear before the court despite summons issued earlier. The bank approached the court leading to registration of a case in January 2016 against Sujana Chowdary and two others for defaulting on repayment of loan to the tune of Rs.106 crore.
The Bank’s lawyer Sanjeev Kumar said that summons were issued to the Union Minister to appear before the court on February 20, March 5, March 22, April 1 and April 7. But he did not turn up at the court’, he said. He claimed that the minister’s counsel represented to the court that Sujana Chowdary could not come to the court on Thursday as he had ‘Cabinet Meeting’.
