Kapu leader and former Minister Mudragada Padmanabham has plans to launch a new programme ‘Aatmeeya Palakarimpu’ in Konaseema region on October 8.
According to sources, the main aim of the programme is to interact with people of the community by visiting their houses and highlighting the needs for extending BC status to the Kapu community.
Speaking at a press conference today, leaders of the JAC Vasireddi Yesudasu, Akula Ramakrishna and Nalla Vishnu Murty said the objective of the tour was to enable the people who could not make it to Kirlampudi during the Kapu agitation to meet Padmanabham and explain him of their problems. The tour would be launched at the Siddhi Vinayaka temple at Inavilli. It would cover Veeravallipalem and surrounding villages.
Mudragada Padmanabham has already toured several villages in West Godavari district last month and interacted with members of the community. Now, he is palling to visit the Gannavaram Assembly constituency. ‘We are keen on the BC status and our movement will be continued till the government included Kapus in the list of BCs’, they said.
