The police did not allow Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham to leave his residence here to resume ‘padayatra’.

Officer on Special Duty Ravi Sankar told Mudragada that the police would not allow anyone to go out as there was no permission for the padayatra that resulted in verbal exchange between him and Mudragada and other JAC leaders. The latter came heavily on the police when they cited law and other order problem for denying permission said that Chandrababu Naidu had created law and problem when he took holy dip in Godavari Pushkarams in which 30 pilgrims were killed. He said that Law and problem will not arise because of me. It was because of Chandrababu Naidu only. He was the culprit in the Pushkarams incident and he should be punished first, he said.

The OSD Ravi Shankar quoted the Supreme Court guidelines, the advocate for Mudragada argued that if the State government wanted to follow the guidelines strictly, it should have issued an ordinance through the Principal Secretary of Home on the guidelines. Later, Mudragada went back into his residence.
