Movie writer Kasi Viswanath dies of heart attack

Famous film writer Chilukoti Kasi Viswanath {68) passed away while was travelling in Lok Manya Tilak Express.

He suffered cardiac arrest near Khammam and died instantaneously. The railway officials have rushed the dead body to Government Hospital. Kasi Viswanath was suffering with ailments for some time. He was travelling from Hyderabad to Visakhapatnam when he died.

Kasi Viswanath has worked for over 70 Telugu films and worked with directors such as Dasari Narayanayana Rao, Relangi Narasimha Rao, Raja Chandra, Vijaya Bapineedu etc.

According to GRP Head Constable P.Srinivasa Rao, Kasi Viswanath was travelling from Hyderabad to Visakhapatnam in Lok Manya Tilak Express. He was in AC B-1 coach with berth No.52 and sustained heart attack near Khammam. He fell on the floor when the TC Tyagarajn came to him and tried to wake him up but of no vail. At around 2am, Khammam Railway staff have brought down Kasi Viswanath and called on the 108 who confirmed him of dead.

Kasi Viswanath was born in 1946 in Visakhapatnam to Koti Appalaswamy and Butchayamma and began as a writer, stage artiste and director from high school level. He entered into movie field in 1980. Kasi Viswanath son Sridhar who was working in Loco Pilot in Visakhapatnam rushed to Khammam. The police handed over the dead body after panchanama to him. The dead body was shifted to Visakhapatnam.

He is survived by wife Mahalakshmi, two sons Sridhar and Kalyan Chakravari and a daughter.
