TTD management has resolved to scrap away all kinds of charges being collected at its Kalyana Vedika for those who wish to enter into a wedlock.
Desirous couples hitherto need not pay even a single pie at the TTD run Kalyana Vedika and get their marriages through at free of cost. The TTD is toying the idea of introducing a new scheme – Kalyanam. The TTD besides invalidating the charges like Rs.500 towards the Purohit costs, Rs.300 (melam) and Rs.60 (electrical charges) collected presently from the couples entering into a nuptical knot at its Kalayana Vedika at Tirumala also has been resolved to extend certain benefits like allowing them along with Rs.300 special darshan lines instead of through the Supatham marg, providing them with gestural turmeric, vermilion packets and 10 small laddus. The TTD has also resolved to set up a government registration office on the premises of the sprawling Vedika so as to enable the newly married secure on the spot marriage certificate.
