Deputy Speaker Mandali Buddha Prasad who head the fact finding panel recommended action against two YSRCP MLAs – R.K.Roja and Kodali Nani as their behavior in the Assembly had the potential to bring disrepute to the legislature.
The committee that was set up to go into the behavior of the legislatures in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly on December 22 when the House witnessed acrimonious debate between ruling TDP and YSRCP members. The proceedings ended with the one year suspension of Roja from the House for using abusive language against the Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
The Committee headed by Budda Prasad comprising of T.Sravan Kumar of TDP, Vishnu Kumar Raju of BJP and G.Srikanth Reddy of YSRCP as members. The committee that went through the proceedings recommended that appropriate action be initiated against these two MLAs of YSRCP. The report would be submitted to Ethics and Privileges committees of the legislature for further action. G.Srikanth Reddy, however said the main Opposition had submitted a dissent note to the panel chairman as the proceedings were aimed at targeting select members of YSRCP and it did not concede the request of YSRCP to lodge a complaint relating to the leakage of House proceedings to the social media.
However the panel report did not make any mention of the names of the TDP MLAs including ministers K.Atchan Naidu, Chief Whip K.Srinivasulu and MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao who made abusive and provocative comments against leader of the Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
