  • Police arrests MRPS activists at various locations

Guntur Rural Police on Wednesday arrested MRPS leader Manda Krishna Madiga near Miryalaguda just hours before the start of Viswa Roopa Garjana at Naravaripalli village, the native of the Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu.

Police picked him up at a guest house and was being questioned. Sources said that Manda Krishna Madiga along with supports in a private guest house and later his followers were let off. Elsewhere in the State, MRPS activists heading to Naravaripalli were rounded up at different locations.

In Chittoor police had taken over 200 MRPS activists into custody in the last 24 hours. They have set up check posts at various points especially on the boarders with Kadapa, Anantapur and Nellore. In Vizianagaram, police made preventive arrests of 50 MRPS activists and registered cases under Sec.151 against them.

It may be recalled that the Tirupati police have already denied permission for the meeting.

MRPS leader attempts to commit suicide:: Demanding immediate release of MRPS founder president Manda Krishna Madiga, protests are glaring up in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. As part of the protests, MRPS leader from Rajampeta of YSR Kadapa district consumed pesticide in an attempt to commit suicide demanding immediate release. He was immediately rushed to district headquarters hospital. It may be recalled that Manda Krishna Madiga was arrested on Wednesday night.
