M.Malakondiah is the new DGP of Andhra Pradesh

According to sources, M. Malakondiah has been appointed as the new Director General of Police of the State.

An official order will be issued in a couple of days said sources. He replaces N.Sambasiva Rao who is retiring by the end of this month. Malakondiah is currently working as Vice-Chairman and MD of APSRTC.

Malakondiah is 1985 batch IPS officer currently working as Vice-Chairman and MD of AP State Road Transport Corporation. He hails from Prakasam district. Malakondiah did his schooling in Guntur. Prior to his selection to IPS, he worked as an employee in a bank. He did his BL and graduated in agriculture. He took doctorate in criminology from Andhra University and did his post graduate diploma in Business Management.

He worked as ASP in East Godavari, Warangal, Adilabad, Medak, Guntur, West Godavari and Visakhapatnam and as Additional SP and SP cadres. He worked as DIG in Eluru Range and Guntur. He worked as Chairman of AP Police Recruitment Board, as Director of AP Police Academy Director and Director General of ACB.

He is currently working as Managing Director of APSRTC since November last. He will be retiring on June 2018.
