Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has on Wednesday appointed a six-member Cabinet Sub-Committee to solve problems of Kapu community.
Chandrababu Naidu announced a fund of Rs.1,000 crore would be allotted for the Kapu Corporation in the next budget. After a daylong Cabinet meeting he announced the decisions taken.
The committee comprising of minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Ganta Srinivasa Rao, K.E.Krishna Murty, Kollu Ravindra and N.Chinarajappa with the Justice Manjuntha Commission that was already working on the legal possibilities of the inclusion of Kapus in BCs list. Chandrababu said that the government had already released Rs.6,600 crore under the BC Sub-Plan. Kapus’ inclusion in the list of BC category is not possible without the commission’s report. Even if it were done, the courts would cancel it. If the percentage crosses 50, the decision needs the consent of the President of India. All procedures have to be followed to ensure that their demand is met, he said.
