Kadapa-Hyderabad flight was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi under the ‘Ude Desh Ka Aam Naagarik’ (UDAN) scheme’s regional connectivity service on Thursday.
The Prime Minister flagged off the Shimla-Delhi and Nanded-Hyderabad services. The UDAN was a unique scheme of the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation, said Modi. He said that the fare of Rs.2,500 would be charged for a distance of 500km to be covered in one hour in a fixed wing flight. The air travel would be made more affordable to the common man by making 70 airports accessible to them from the next year.
Minister for Marketing Adinarayana Reddy said that he would appraise the Chief Minister the need to operate more flights from Kadapa to Chennai and Visakhapatnam.
