The main deponent, Muppalla Subba Rao appearing for the third day on Thursday said that the Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu was responsible for the stampede at the Pushkar Ghat during the Godavari Pushkarams on July 14, 2015 in which 29 persons had been killed and 51 injured. Putting forth his arguments, he said that the Chief Minister who was ought to have left the ghat at 6.26am after inauguration has stayed their for two and half hours. As a result, the teeming crowds surged towards the main gates of the Pushkar ghat resulting in stampede.
Referring to the NGC footage, he said that it was not complete as it was an edited version and there was no stamped in the visuals.
Government counsel Prabhakar said that had submitted to the commission whatever they received from the NGC.
Justice Somayajulu postponed the inquiry to April 29. The term Justice Somayajulu begins inquiry in Pushkaram stampedeof the commission comes to an end on that day.
