Justice Somayajulu begins inquiry in Pushkaram stampede

Justice C.Y.Somayajulu, the one-man commission probing the Pushkara Ghat stampede begins its inquiry today.

It may be recalled that as many as 27 people were killed in the last year Pushkara stampede here. The Commission has directed the advocate representing the government to give notices to all the injured persons before January 27. The Commission also directed the witness and complainant Muppala Subba Rao, Member of AP Bar Council and president of the State Human Rights Council to submit more evidence within 15 days to the commission.

The Commission has also appointed Madduri Siva Subba Rao, a senior advocate form the Rajamahendravaram Bar Association to advise and assist the Commission.
