YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy addressing a huge gathering at Hiramandalam today demanded the government to pay compensation under the Land Acquisition Act 2013 to all those displaced persons of the Vamsadhara Phase II project.
Jagan alleged that Chandrababu Naidu was delaying the implementation of R&R package to the farmer causing mental agony to their families for the last ten years. He alleged that the government was paying very meagre amount of Rs.1 lakh per acre for the Vamsadhara displaced persons while paying RS.52 lakh for displaced persons of the Pattiseema project and Rs.18 lakh for Kovvada where Nuclear power Project proposed.
He alleged that Chandrababu Naidu colluded with the contractors by escalating the project cot to get 30 per cent commission. He has sanctioned Rs.400 crore for the ten per cent work remained to be done, he said. Jagan felt that only Rs.1,000 crore was needed to complete the pending projects in the district. He said that the government had borrowed over Rs.1 lakh crore in the last three years and spends amounts for unnecessary works ignoring the irrigation projects in the backward areas.
Former MLA of Terlam, Vizianagaram district, Vasi Reddy Varadarama Rao and 32 local leaders joined the YSRCP in the presence of Jagan. Their entry would strengthen the party in Vizianagaram Parliament segment which had spread into both Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts, said Jagan Reddy.
