Thursday, February 18, 2016

YSRCP president Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy called on Governor E.S.L.Narasimhan on Wednesday at Raj Bhavan and submitted him a memorandum asking him to take steps to order a probe by a sitting High Court Judge or the CBI into the violence that took place in Tuni during Kapu Garjana meeting.

In the memorandum, Jagan said that the whole episode was completely mismanaged by the State Government and added that the government was trying to divert the attention of the people by raising false insinuations and baseless allegations against his party. He demanded that the government should release a white paper on the steep hike in the estimates for irrigation projects which he said was aimed to benefit the contractors close to the Chief Minister. The recent decision of the State Cabinet to increase package number 29 from Rs.12 crore to Rs.110 crore was nothing short of looting public money, he said.

In another memorandum, Jagan wanted the Governor to direct the State Government to immediately constitute the tribal advisory council with three-fourth of the legislators belonging to ST as its members. YRSCP also urged the Governor to direct the Telangana Government against taking up the Palamuru-Ranga Reddy lift irrigation project. He said that it would have adverse impact on the Rayalaseema region.
