Jagan Mohan Reddy meets Governor – asks not to swear unless they resign

Saturday, April 23, 2016

YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy today called on the Governor E.S.L.Narasimhan and requested him not to allow Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to induct the defected MLAs into his Cabinet unless they resign from their Assembly membership.

Jagan along with party leaders met the Governor at Raj Bhavan and submitted representation accusing Chandrababu of blatant misuse of power and rampant corruption. He said that Chandrababu was resorting to horse trading with ill gotten wealth.

Speaking to media after meeting the Governor, he challenged Chandrababu Naidu to disqualify the defected MLAs and go to the people seeking a fresh mandate. It will be a referendum on his governance and the undemocratic methods being employed ever since he came to power. He said that some of the defected MLAs were offered ministerial berths which is a mockery of democracy. He questioned how can a person elected on YSRCP ticket be taken into TDP? Such unfair practices should be stopped forthwith. He said that the party has complained to the Speaker but no action was taken. If the trend continues, we will seek legal recourse, he said.
