Jagan’s padayatra aims to explain the failures of the government and understand the people’s problems

Saturday, November 4, 2017

YSRCP president and leader of the Opposition in the AP Assembly YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will be undertaking a padayatra covering 3,000 km right from Idupulapaya to Itchapuram for nearly 185 days covering 125 constituencies from November 6, 2017.

The constitutionally elected Opposition Party Leader is to raise the voice of the people in the Assembly and suggest corrective measures if things goes wrong. But unfortunately, according to leaders of the party the ruling party is shutting down the voice of the Opposition in the Assembly prompting to go to the people directly to place before them the facts.

Jagan Mohan Reddy is undertaking the yatra as he was denied to discharge his duties as the Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly. Unfortunately, the government is creating obstacles to the proposed padayatra. Padayatra in the State is not new as former Chief Minister late YS Rajasekhara Reddy took padayatra was a historic one. The present Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu too undertook padayatra earlier.

Ruling TDP has broken the Assembly customs and has the credit of giving ministerial berths to four of the 21 MLAs defected to the party from YSRCP. All the four ministers according to Assembly bulletin belongs to YSRCP.

Party leaders alleged that some unfortunate incidents may take place during the padayatra of Jagan. It may be noted here that no untoward incidents took place even in YSR padayatra, Chandrababu Naidu padayatra or even Sharmila padayatra.

Jagan Mohan Reddy would meet all sections of the people irrespective of farmers, retired employees and all communities and create awareness to them and will understand the problems personally. YSRCP has appealed all sections of the people to cooperate with them and make it a grand success.

The padayatra is the only last resort for the Opposition party in the current political scenario.
