Telugu Desam Party MP from Anantapur J.C.Diwakar Reddy said today that he was resigning from Parliament within the next few days having failed to fulfil the wishes of his electorate.
Speaking to media, he said he would submit his resignation to the Lok Sabha Speaker on September 25 or 26. He said that he was quitting only to his post and not from politics. He said that he failed to deliver the promise to bring water – drinking water to all and irrigation water to the ayacut in Tadipatri Assembly constituency and widen roads in Aantapur town.
‘After 40 years in politics, it is unnecessary to continue for people like me, especially when no value is attached to our opinions and wishes’, he said. In an apparent reference to Anantapur TDP MLA Vaikuntam Prabhakar Chowdary, he said that some people were working against the wishes of the people such as widening of roads and betterment of drainage system.
It may be recalled that both the leaders were involved in a war of words even inside the Anantapur municipal council meeting over widening of roads in the old town area of the Anantapur town.
