The Cabinet sub-committee on sand mining has favored industry status to ‘robo sand’ manufacturing according to Mining Secretary Girija Sankar.
The sub-committee that met here on Monday has decided to place the recommendations before the Cabinet. If the State Cabinet approves the proposal, the robo sand manufactures would be eligible for all incentives given to an industry like concession in power, 75 per cent concession in VAT and 50 per cent slash in seignorage and investment subsidy etc., Marketing tie up facility would also be provided to the manufacturers.
Girija Sankar said that e-auctioning of sand reaches in six districts viz. East and West Godavari, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Kurnool and Kadapa. was put on hold for two days . The sub committee held discussions with the farmer representatives on sand available in pattas lands which under possession of the farmers. Ramakrishnudu said that their suggestions would be taken into consideration.
