IndiGo begins operations from Rajamahendravram

IndiGo commencing the operations from here today, Deputy Chief Minister, N.Chinarajapa said that Madhurapudi Airport which is known as Rajahmundry Airport was started operations with Vayudoot long back and four flights started operations in the beginning.

He said that after IndiGo started its operations, the number of flights has increased to 8 and it will go up to 16 soon. He said that with the initiative of the Chief Minister and Union Civil Aviation Minister, night landing facility was provided at the airport.

N.Muralimohan, MP appealed to IndiGo to extend air connectivity to Tirupati and Shirdi as the number of passengers travelling from both Godavari districts to these shrines is more. He also appealed that the IndiGo has to think of maintaining affordable tariff and should not increase fares abnormally as it is a practice now.

Sanjeev Ramdas, Executive Vice-President of Customer Service and Operations Control, IndiGo flagged off the flight to Hyderabad.
